Suzanne Adams, LMT
Suzanne Adams graduated from Southeastern School for Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy in Greenville, SC in 2002. She then opened the first Essential Massage Therapy. Suzanne practiced in Greenville for a year and a half before selling and moving to Myrtle Beach, SC. In Myrtle Beach she worked for Her Body and Soul for two years, Waccamaw Chiropractic and Wellness Center for over a year, and is currently an instructor for massage therapy at Horry-Georgetown Tech. Suzanne has now decided to venture into familiar territory once again with the opening of Essential Massage Therapy in the Murrells Inlet/Surfside areas.
Continuing Education - Suzanne has had the opportunity to broaden her scope of practice since graduation with continuing education. She has taken classes for Fibromyalgia, Lypossage, CERMT, and Nurturing the Mother. With this new knowledge she can now further aid those suffering with fibromyalgia. With lypossage, she aids those who want to lift and tone their bodies. With CERMT (Carolina Emergency Response Massage Team) training, she aids emergency personnel in times of crisis. With Nurturing the Mother certification, she is able to aid those who are trying to get pregnant, those who are pregnant, and those wanting a more natural childbirth experience.

Kimberly Green graduated from the massage program at Horry-Georgetown Technical College in 2007. Suzanne Adams was one of her instructors and hired her straight out of school to join her at Essential Massage Therapy. Kimberly's motivation and excitement for her career lead to the proposition of a partnership that became 707 Essential Transitions Day Spa. This alliance helped fulfill a lifelong dream for Kimberly. She has her Reiki II attunements and is looking forward to becoming a Reiki Master. She is also excited about her projected continuing education in Reflexology.

Massage Benefits for Fibromyalgia Sufferers
People who suffer from fibromyalgia benefit exponentially from massage therapy. Massage releases the lactic acid and other toxins from the muscles that build up as a result of the nerves constantly firing that tell the muscles to stay contracted.
I like to use hot stones for fibromyalgia because it is a more deeply relaxing massage. Sufferers of this syndrome generally do not sleep long enough to get to the fourth stage of sleep which is when the muscles would repair and rebuild. Therefore, the relaxation induced by heat can be beneficial for enhancing or lengthening sleep time. The hot stones also allow me to work deeper without the discomfort usually associated with deep-tissue massage. The heat relaxes the muscles allowing me to make more progress than I would otherwise in the treatment of the affected tissue.
Many of my clients have found that massage helped them feel well enough to start an exercise program that was crucial to keeping the muscles healthy and increasing their energy level. They also found that eliminating yeast from their diets helped tremendously in their treatment plan.
